16TH ANNUAL BEACH N’ BOOGIE WEEKEND FEBRUARY 12 and 13

January 22, 2016, Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Ocean Lakes Family Campground will host its 16th Annual Beach n’ Boogie Weekend from Feb. 12 through Feb. 13. This family-friendly event will include live beach music, shag lessons by the legendary shag instructor Judy Duke, and a variety of fun activities for all ages. The celebration is exclusively for guests of the campground and sites are still available.

The Beach n’ Boogie Weekend will begin on Friday, Feb. 12, with Carolina beach music performed by The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. In true South Carolina fashion, the fun kicks off again on Saturday, Feb. 13, with shag lessons by Judy Duke from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Later in the evening, guests will be able to practice their new moves to tunes by The Band of Oz, a dynamic eight-member group with a full horn section, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. All Beach n’ Boogie activities will be held in the Recreation Building, merely feet from the Atlantic.

“We’re thrilled to kick off the entertainment at Ocean Lakes’ Beach n’ Boogie Weekend with an incredible performance by South Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame inductee The Embers,” said Barb Krumm, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Ocean Lakes Family Campground. “The weekend will be full of excitement as guests move to the beat of South Carolina’s state dance, the shag, and enjoy activities for the whole family.”

Wristbands for the Beach n’ Boogie Weekend are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, for adults, and $5 for children between 4 and 11. The wristband is good for admission to all concerts and activities, and it must be worn at all times.

“Many guests come back year after year and celebrate Valentine’s Day at our Beach n’ Boogie Weekend,” said Krumm. “This year it coincides with President’s day so it’s a three-day weekend of fun.”
