BB&T Insurance Services gives Myrtle Beach-based company its Lighthouse Beam Recognition Award
MYRTLE BEACH, SC | The Jackson Companies, owner-operator of Ocean Lakes Family Campground, has received a top award from BB&T Insurance Services for the company’s excellent track record of workplace safety.
BB&T presented the Myrtle Beach-based company with its Lighthouse Beam Safety Recognition Award for achieving an Excellent OSHA Recordable Incident Rate in 2016. Only about 10 percent of BB&T Insurance Services’ clients reach this top level.
BB&T Insurance Services initiated the Lighthouse Beam Recognition Award to promote safety and health excellence and to recognize their clients’ performance. To receive the Lighthouse Beam Excellence Award, a client’s recordable incident rate with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration must be 15 percent below the industry average.
Lawton Greenwood, Senior Vice President with BB&T Boyle Vaughan Insurance, recently met with company leaders and teammates in Myrtle Beach and presented the award to Bonita Lloyd, Director of Human Resources & Safety for The Jackson Companies.

The Jackson Companies has an 11- member Safety Committee, made up of teammates and managers, who work to ensure the company maintains the highest level of safety. The committee regularly inspects all areas of the company to identify potential hazards and works with department managers to address any potential risks.
Lloyd credited the leaders and teammates at The Jackson Companies for their unwavering commitment to workplace safety. The Jackson Companies has about 250 year-round teammates and another 300 seasonal employees.
