Celebrate Easter by the Ocean!
Enjoy a full lineup of festive activities including Sandy’s Spring Fling Festival, the Easter Bunny Hop-In, EGGsplore the Ocean Floor (Under the Sea Easter Egg Hunt), Easter Bonnet Contest, Magic Show, and our beautiful Sunrise Worship Service along the beachfront. What started as a small holiday gathering has grown into a beloved tradition as families return year after year to celebrate together and create lasting memories.
NEW Event for 2026!
Join us for our 1st Annual Sandy’s Spring Fling Festival in the beachside Golf Car Parking Lot for a full day of fantastic food and family fun! Bounce houses will be open starting at 9 AM, giving kids plenty of time to jump and play. A $15 wristband includes unlimited bouncing all day (socks are required for the bounce houses, extras will be available for purchase if needed). Face painting will be available from 9 AM to 3 PM, and from 11 AM to 5 PM you can enjoy delicious bites from a variety of food trucks while soaking up the fun, festive atmosphere. Bring the whole family and celebrate spring with us!

Maundy Service
Thursday, April 2nd @ 7:30 PM – All are welcome to join Pastor Lawton as he leads Maundy Thursday service. Maundy commemorates the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples. Jesus broke bread, saying, “This is my body,” and poured wine, saying, “This is my blood.”
Easter Bonnet Contest
Contestants: Drop Off 9 AM – 8 PM – Get creative with your family and design your own custom Easter Bonnet at home! Once finished, bring your bonnet to the Recreation Office on Friday, April 3rd, between 9 AM – 8 PM to register.
Voters: 10 AM – 12 PM You must vote via App/Website – Guests will have the chance to vote (via the Ocean Lakes App) for their favorite bonnet during the Easter Bunny Hop-In on Saturday morning. All winners will be notified by 8 PM on Saturday.

Easter Bunny Hop-in
Saturday, April 4th @ 10 AM – 12 PM – Join us at the Recreation Center for a special photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny! We will provide a snack bag for all children (ages 11 and under). Don’t forget your camera to snap a picture with the Easter Bunny on stage. Enjoy additional fun activities, including a Candy Guess Contest, Easter Bonnet Voting, $5 Craft, and a family-friendly Easter Photo Booth. Arrive early to secure your spot— the Easter Bunny Photo Line closes at 11:30 AM! Vote for the Candy Guess Contest and Easter Bonnet Contest via the Ocean Lakes App during this time.
Magic Show
Saturday, April 4th | Pre-Show @ 5 PM, Show Starts @ 6 PM – Bring the whole family and enjoy a night of illusions by the Grand Strand Magic Club. Pre-show starts at 5 PM with fun stuff for the kids. Show will begin at 6 PM.
Sunrise Worship Service
Sunday, April 5th @ 7:00 AM – Meet us at the 3 Crosses on the beachfront to worship as the sun rises. In case of bad weather, service will be moved to the Recreation Center. Service starts at 7:00 AM and usually lasts 30-45 minutes. Please note that Golf Carts are not permitted in the area of sunrise service. Please Park in the parking by the creamery or by the playground’s on the beach front
EGGsplore the Ocean Floor
Sunday, April 5th Stop by the Recreation Center anytime between 2 PM – 3:30 PM for a one-of-a-kind Under the Sea Easter Egg Hunt! Dive into the adventure where you’ll swim through sea grass, weave past giant jellyfish, and sneak past sharks to collect hidden eggs. This unforgettable egg hunt takes place in the Recreation Center, Rooms A & B. Don’t forget your egg basket and a camera to capture the fun!
Nature Center Activities
Easter Egg Pressings
Come to the Nature Center for a fun Easter craft! Find natural items and press them into your very own clay Easter egg while learning about the parts of the eggs that we eat. Limited spots available sign up in advance at the Nature Center. $3 per person required at registration
Paint a Butterfly
Join the Naturalists at the Nature Center to learn about pollinators and their importance while painting your own beautiful butterfly to take home with you. Limited spots available sign up in advance at the Nature Center. $3 per person required at registration
Paint an Easter Egg
Embrace your Easter spirit and come to the Nature Center to paint your very own wooden Easter egg to take home. Limited spots available sign up in advance at the Nature Center. $5 per person required at registration
Springtime Slime
Join us at the Nature Center for a fun science experiment where you’ll not only learn about the science of springtime but also create slime you can keep! Sign-up is required in person in advance at the Nature Center, as space is limited. Cost is $5 per person required at registration.
