Cedric White promoted to Assistant General Manager

White to Oversee Camptown Center, Sandy Harbor, Annual Lease Site Compliance, Food Service, Laundry, and Vending

Myrtle Beach, SC | Ocean Lakes Family Campground, a division of The Jackson Companies, in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has promoted Cedric White to Assistant General Manager.

White’s new responsibilities include the Camptown Center operations, including Sandy Mart, Meet n’ Eat, and Soapy Suds, as well as Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center, including the Water Park, Game Center, Café, and the Recreation Department. White will continue to oversee Security operations, the Annual Lease Site Compliance Department, and the vending operations, including Food Trucks. He works closely with the Recreation Director, Recreation Manager, Food Services Manager, Sandy Mart Manager, Security Manager, and the Compliance Team.

White was a regional manager for an international security company in the SC low country area, including Horry, Florence, Georgetown, and the Tri-county Charleston area, prior to joining Ocean Lakes as the Security Manager in 2016. With strong leadership skills and business knowledge, White also began overseeing Ocean Lakes’ Compliance Department in 2021. Working closely with vendors, Horry County officials, and Leaseholders, this team ensures that codes and policies are met and helps coordinate construction, renovations, and permits for Ocean Lakes’ 2,583 Annual Lease Sites. White has been instrumental in bringing technology to help improve Ocean Lakes’ efficiency, streamlining operations, and identifying tools to assist teammates. This includes software and badges to manage vendors on the authorized contractor list, training, systems, and body cameras for Security, as well as helpful vending amenities such as stand-alone ice machines to assist guests on the beach.

White graduated from Georgetown High School and then Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Business Management. He is a graduate of Leadership Grand Strand, Class of 2022, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity. Cedric loves to spend time with his family, his wife, Nicole, and children, Micah, Brie, and Levi. He is a digital creator, a Christian Music Promoter, and Lead Pastor at BOC Church.

The family-owned business employs more than 350 teammates year-round and employs an additional 400 teammates in-season. It offers 3,442 sites – 859 of which are large and pull-through to accommodate larger RVs. It was built by Mary Emily and Nelson Jackson and their five daughters, starting in 1970. It opened with 30 campsites and one bathhouse in 1971. On an average seasonal day, Ocean Lakes has 25,000 to 35,000 guests enjoying the countless amenities that have made it a local favorite and a national vacation destination.
