8th Annual Field of Dreams Baseball Camp
An event for all ages exclusively for Ocean Lakes guests!
Batter up!   Join on July 21, 2010 for this outstanding event. Field of Dreams Weekend is for all ages and is especially geared for families.  Participants will train with the professionals at Coastal Federal Field with The Myrtle Beach Pelicans Minor League Baseball Team, an Atlanta Braves Class A affiliate.  Field of Dreams Baseball Camp participants with receive a souvenir tee shirt and ball cap along with other goodies!  Not all family members may want to participant in the training camp, but are welcome to watch all events (see "Event Prices" below for various options).
   
Start off with a hearty, healthy, breakfast between 7-8:15 AM. Then, each family will head to Coastal Federal Field for training camp with the Pelicans!  Training with the pros will begin at 9 AM until 12 Noon and it is limited to 150 participants to ensure a quality learning experience.  At Noon participants will enjoy lunch with some of the Pelican team members. Everyone will head back to Ocean Lakes Family Campground to enjoy the afternoon at the pool or beach (some us may be ready for a snooze).   By late afternoon everyone should feel refreshed and ready to head back to Coastal Federal Field for an evening of food, fun and baseball!  This year join us in a new tailgate area! The Ocean Lakes tailgate party starts at 5:05 PM in the Beach Area near third base. The all-you-can-eat buffet includes Black Angus hamburgers, all-beef hot dogs, chicken filet, cole slaw, chips & salsa and soft drinks & tea.  The game starts at 7:05 PM.  The Pelicans will be playing The Wilmington Blue Rocks, a Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. After the game, you can either head back to the campground, or enjoy the many attractions near Coastal Federal Field.

Field of Dreams Baseball Camp
Adults and children's wristbands are $75 each plus your site fee. This includes the Pelicans' training camp, a souvenir tee shirt, game hat and a tailgate party with a game and the all-you-can-eat buffet at Myrtle Beach Pelican's Stadium. Plus a hearty breakfast on that morning.

Don't want the hands-on camp, but want to participate?
Ocean Lakes Breakfast, Tailgate Party and Pelicans Game

Family members that don't want to "sweat it" out in the baseball camp (non-baseball campers) can enjoy breakfast with your family members that are going to camp, the all-you-can-eat buffet and game at Myrtle Beach Pelican's Stadium for $25 each adult and $23 for each child (ages 3-10).

  Field of Dreams Guidelines
 
  • Field of Dreams Baseball Camp is for adults and children of all ages.
  • An adult must accompany all minors.
  • A liability waiver will have to be signed by a parent or guardian at the Pelicans' Stadium prior to training.
  • The Pelicans' players themselves will train guests.
  • Ocean Lakes does not provide transportation (in order to help keep costs low).  Guests must provide their own transportation.
  • A shirt, hat and Pelicans' souvenir is included with the Field of Dreams Camp Players only, not included with the tailgate party and game ticket.  Please remember to indicate your shirt size on the Registration Form (mailed to guests once they have made a reservation).
  • Once Lakes will provide breakfast for all Field of Dreams Players only at the Recreation Building prior to going to Myrtle Beach Pelicans' stadium (Coastal Federal Field) that morning. Non-campers are welcome to eat breakfast and dinner with their family (see above).
  • Family members are welcome to watch Field of Dreams Training at the stadium.
