Rallies and Groups

Don’t struggle with trying to find a place that will make everyone happy. Imagine holding your group meeting or rally in Myrtle Beach! Ocean Lakes has something for everyone of every age. We are conveniently located only minutes from theatres, shopping, dining …and only feet from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Of course, there are so many activities inside our campground your group would never have to leave the park!

Ocean Lakes’ Recreation Building features 17,000 square feet of climate controlled space only 180 feet from the ocean. It can easily seat 1,000 guests and we have hosted dinners for even more than that! Our raised stage is large with lights and sound to accommodate any meeting, but is excellent for entertainment. Moveable partitions form three smaller meeting rooms. Our commercial style kitchen is great for cooking or catering. Ocean Lakes teammates provide outstanding customer service and are always on hand to assist our guests.

We hope you will consider Ocean Lakes for your next rally, reunion, or retreat. We recommend you contact us about booking your event up to 18 months in advance to reserve the number of campsites your participants will need.

If you are a smaller group and prefer a beach house rental please contact Ocean Lakes Properties. Ocean Lakes features rental sites that can accommodate up to 20 guests! See the list here.

Finally, the Recreation Building is reserved by contacting the Recreation Director.

Meeting Facilities

The Ocean Lakes Recreation building and its facilities are available for use by rally groups. If your group would like to use any of these facilities during your rally, please inquire about availability when making rally reservations. The Recreation Director is responsible for scheduling the Recreation facilities. Groups may reserve the entire facility or individual rooms, depending on their needs. There is no additional charge for use of the Recreation Building. Please note that the facilities are not available on Sundays until after 12 Noon.

Recreation Building

Our 17,000 sq. ft. Recreation Building can host a variety of activities and events. The main auditorium can seat over 1000 and has a large, raised stage, a sound system and spot lights. Three meetings rooms with bi-fold doors are adjacent to the main auditorium and are ideal for seminars and smaller groups. A spacious kitchen area is also available in the building. A detailed map of the building is included in the Appendix of our rally guide.

Kitchen Facilities

The Recreation Building is equipped with a full-service kitchen area. It is available for groups preparing their meals or for catering. The kitchen is equipped with electric grills, a convection oven, stoves, a refrigerator and freezer space. Some utensils and cooking equipment are also available for use. Please refer to the kitchen inventory list in the Appendix for an outline of available equipment. Our kitchen is not equipped with a proper hood system to allow deep frying in the kitchen. If meals require deep frying, arrangements should be made to do this outside of the Recreation Building. Damaged or missing equipment will be the responsibility of the rally.

A/V Equipment

The Recreation Building is equipped with a complete sound system. Sound can be provided for speakers and seminars during any event. The main auditorium is equipped with a video projection system and screen. A TV slide screen is also available in Meeting Room A. Overhead and slide projectors are not available but may be rented locally.

All sound equipment will be operated by Ocean Lakes teammates only. Groups should indicate their A/V needs to the Recreation Director during planning so that proper staffing can be provided. There is no additional charge for the use of the sound system.

All outside entertainment brought in by rally groups will be required to supply their own adequate sound system. The house sound system is not available for use by these groups. Rally coordinators should make this clear when contracting rally entertainment.

Set Up and Maintenance

All setup and clean up of the Recreation Building during the rally is the responsibility of the rally group. Since an additional charge is not required to use the building, we ask that your group leave the facilities clean and orderly upon departure. All maintenance equipment, brooms, garbage bags, etc., will be supplied.

A pre-rally meeting with the Recreation Director will be scheduled to review the facilities and answer any questions you may have. Recreation staff will be on duty during your rally to answer any questions and supply support. Please feel free to call on Recreation teammates for any need that may arise. A post-rally meeting will also be scheduled. A facility walk-through and evaluation will be completed at that time.

Meeting Rooms

Three meeting rooms are available in the Recreation Building adjacent to the main auditorium. These rooms are equipped with bi-fold doors and may be opened up to make 1 or 2 larger rooms. Each room can seat 60 for dinner or 250 collectively. Sound is available to each room. Each group may set up rooms according to their needs. Please consult with the Recreation Director concerning set up. Only recreation staff members are to move or adjust bi-fold doors.

Recreation Building Furniture

The Recreation Building has an ample supply of folding tables and auditorium stack chairs. Our inventory includes 100 nine foot long folding tables, 25 round tables and 1000 auditorium stack chairs. The furniture can be used and arranged according to the needs of your rally. All Recreation Building furniture must be used inside the Recreation Building. If outdoor furniture is needed, local rental stores can supply tables and chairs.
