On behalf of our founders, Mary Emily and Nelson Jackson, and all of our teammates, we thank you for your interest in Ocean Lakes Family Campground. Many of you have been part of the Ocean Lakes family for years and think of Ocean Lakes as your home away from home. We appreciate your loyalty and we work very hard to keep improving our family campground in the hopes that you'll stay part of our family for years to come!
For those of you who are new to Ocean Lakes - we hope this site will entice you to visit us soon! We strive to be the best RV park in America. Ocean Lakes allows you to sit and relax, or join in our many activities and have fun. There is a lot to discover about Ocean Lakes, our teammates and this website can assist you in making some plans!
If you bring your TV, each site features cable hook-up featuring 70 channels. Tune into Ocean Lakes Information Channel 10 for the latest on what's happening within our park and along the Grand Strand.
Campsites
Ocean Lakes Family Campground features 893 campsites. All sites are pull through and generally accommodate a 40' campers (some sites are much larger) with slideouts on both sides. Tents are welcome on all sites as well. All sites include water, sewer, 20-30-50 amp electric, 70 channel cable TV hookup, a modem-friendly phone jack with free local calls, daily curbside trash pickup and a picnic table. Reservations are made up to 18 months in advance according to site availability and sites are reserved by specific site number. We feature nearly 100 concrete pads that measure 45' x 18'. You'll know exactly what site you are going to be on when you make the reservation!
Beach House and Trailer Rentals
You don't need a camper to stay at Ocean Lakes! We have nearly 300 rental sites that range in all sizes and price ranges! Ocean Lakes Properties handles the reservations beginning in January every year. Each house or trailer available are individually owned and each site therefore has a unique personality. The rental sites are fully furnished, all you need to do is bring your linen and paper products!
Safety
You and your family are safe and secure at Ocean Lakes Family Campground. Our gates stay open 24 hours a day and we provide 24 hour security patrol. If you need a hand or have a question, don’t hesitate waving down security or calling the main office for information, directions, or assistance.
Transportation
There are several ways to discover Ocean Lakes and it depends on the mode of transportation you prefer. One of the most popular ways to get acquainted with Ocean Lakes is to cruise around on an electric golf car. Left yours at home? No problem, bring it next time, but we’ve got you covered with golf car rentals. The Golf Car Rental Shop is located behind the Main Office. There are daily and weekly rentals available. Oh, you prefer two wheels (as in a bicycle)? That is also a great way to explore Ocean Lakes (and so healthy, too)! If you need a bicycle, we rent those too! Just stroll down to the Recreation Office and you’ll be peddling ‘til your heart’s content, or exhaustion - that’s up to you! Speaking of strolling, that may be more your pace and Ocean Lakes definitely offers an ever changing scenery. Ocean Lakes has a perimeter that measures about 3 miles and an interior that features 29 miles of paved roads! Happy trails!
Sand n' Surf
That warm southern sun makes your mouth water for a glass of sweet tea and a beach chair! Ocean Lakes features nearly one mile of soft sand leading you right into the beautifully refreshing Atlantic Ocean. Take in the entire view from our oceanfront Observation Deck to scope out the perfect spot on the beach. (Don’t worry about lugging that tea to the beach to melt in the sun - our oceanfront Beach Concession is right beside the oceanfront Observation Deck.)
Pools
We understand that some of you want a more "controlled" water environment. No problem - we have an outdoor Olympic-sized pool, an all-seasons pool, and two kiddie pools, complete with lifeguards in season. Kids can enjoy our new Sandy Harbor Splash Zone. The pool area and sun decks are part of the Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center next to the Ocean Lakes Recreation Center. No melting tea worries here either, the Sandy Harbor Cafe keeps an arctic ice tea handy for you. Maybe your cup of tea is a cold soda, or even more "fulfilling," try our delicious ice cream, an Ocean Lakes favorite! (Beware, the large cone is LARGE!)
Recreation Center
You have to stop by our 17,000 square foot Recreation Center, (especially you newcomers), as it is the hub of activities around here. Be sure to pick up an Activities Calendar, checkout the Myrtle Beach brochure racks, and speak with our full-time Recreation staff. These people are professionals at having fun! Ocean Lakes offers many activities for the little tykes under the watchful eye of our staff, so ask about our "Kamp Starfish". Don’t forget to purchase your discounted tickets to some of the Grand Strand’s best attractions while you’re there.
Sandy Harbor Games
That sun can get pretty hot at times, so when you and the kids need a break from the heat, be sure to visit our Game Center located next to the Recreation Building in Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center.
Nature Center
As you were digging your toes into the sand you may have discovered an interesting shell but you’re not sure what it is.... Let Leonard at Ocean Lakes Nature Center Discovery Lab tell you all about the discovery. All kinds of interesting things have been found right here on Ocean Lakes’ beachfront, from a 6" wide sharks’ tooth fossil, to a bison’s tooth fossil. Plus, they know where all the good shells are hiding!
Fishing
Maybe you prefer the "living sea," as in fishing. With a mile of oceanfront and eight lakes you should be able to find the perfect "fishing hole." Get your bait at the Camptown Store.
Camptown Center - all newly renovated in 2005!
During your stay you may find you have forgotten something, run out of something, or just plain need something. More than likely you’ll find it at the 12,000 square foot Sandy Mart, along with groceries, snacks, ice, gifts and souvenirs. If shopping makes you hungry, Sandy's Meet n' Eat shares the same parking lot! You can throw piles of laundry into one of our machines (we have 100) at Sandy's Soapy Suds, or let us do it for you at Sandys' Fluff n' Fold. But, maybe your "something needed" is more RV oriented. Don't worry, Ocean Lakes RV Center has you covered. Visit Ocean Lakes RV Center's supply store, or see one of their servicemen and check out the newest RVs. And talk about having you covered, you’ve got it made in the shade with a little help from Ocean Lakes’ Awning Center.
