1. How many tents per site?
On each campsite, we allow one camping unit. The main tent is considered the camping unit, a pup tent for children or for snacks and food is also permitted.
2. How many people per site?
Generally, one family or six people. There is no additional charge for extra family members on campsites.
3. Can we have campfires on campsites?
Yes, campfires are allowed on campsites. However, there is no fire ring to contain the fire. Campers are responsible for using fire safety!
4. What is the phone number to campsite #?
Campsites in the 2000, 3000, and 4000* sections telephone numbers are (843) 232-and then the campsite number. In the lettered sections of the campground, the numbers are: for the HH Section (843) 232 + 44+Campsite #; H Section (843) 232 + 42+Campsite #; I Section (843) 232 + 43+Campsite #; J Section (843) 232 + 50+Campsite #; K Section (843) 232 + 51+Campsite #.
5. How can my family contact me?
All campsites have a modem-friendly phone jack with free local calls. Your family can call or email you should you bring a phone or computer. Otherwise, they can call our Main Office at (843) 238-5636 to leave a message. Security will deliver the messages hourly. If we are told that it is an urgent message the front office will radio security for immediate delivery.
6. Can I have visitors?
Yes, visitors are allowed to come in and see our guests. Make sure your friends know your site number and the name the reservation is in to easily locate you. There is a $3 charge for Visitor Passes and they MUST check-in at the Main Office.
7. Where can I park if there is no room on the site?
Overflow parking is available across from the Main Office. It is patrolled by our Security officers, however, space there is limited as well.
8. Do you allow motorcycles?
Motorcycles are not allowed to ride through the park. However, guests may take their motorcycles to their sites, so long as the engines are cut off. They can be walked down, or taken via pull-trailer.
9. How do I set up Internet access from Ocean Lakes?
Internet access is available to campsites only. Before arriving, locate the local access numbers to your Internet provider for the Myrtle Beach area. Make sure that you have a telephone cord to attach the modem to the phone jack, plug in and go! Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for up to 8 users at a time at the Wireless Zone located at Sandy's Meet n' Eat. Wi-Fi is at the campsites for an additional fee.
10. Do I need a reservation?
It is always a good idea to have a reservation before arriving. Our summer season usually books several months in advance. June, July, August and September and holidays are our peak times, so call our reservation line at 1-877- 510-1413 to guarantee your site!
11. How soon should I make a reservation? How far in advance?
Reservations can be made up to 18 months in advance via our toll free line: 877- 510-1413. We reserve by site number and require a deposit within 7 days of when the reservation was made. Please note that July, September, June, August and holidays are our peak times, so I would make your reservation well in advance (months). July 4th books more than a year in advance. If you call and there is not a site available, do not give up. We generally have cancellations and you can call as often as you want to check for one. We are currently developing an on line reservations system for the near future.
12. Do your gates close?
Our gates are open 24 hours a day and we feature 24 hour security patrol.
13. How do I get extra cable channels (Pay Per-View, Movie Channels, etc.)?
We have over 70 channels at every campsite, which are listed in our Ocean Lakes Magazine given out when you check in and available at the Main Office, Ocean Lakes Properties Office and Recreation Office. Other channels are available for long term stays by contacting Time Warner Cable at (843) 913-7941.
14. What do I do if I arrive after the office closes?
With our 24-hour patrol, you should not have any trouble arriving to your site. They will have you fill out a small slip of paper which can be completed the next day at the Front Office.
