Descriptions and times for all activities listed in alphabetical order.

Adult Ceramics-  10 am-12 pm.  Meet in Rec. Building, Room C.  There is a class fee of $1.50 plus cost of bisqueware.  Acrylics only, no glazing. (Ages 12 & up)

Adult Mini Golf-  9 am. Quit puttin’ around & join us.  Meet at Sandy Harbor Mini Golf.  No fee.

Cool Ceramics- 12:15 pm – 1 pm & 1:15 pm - 2 pm. Classes are held in the Rec. Building, Meeting Room C.  $5 per piece fee is required.  Sign up in Rec. Office.

Cool Crafts- 2 pm - 3 pm.   Recreation Building.  Create a great craft to take home.  Sign up in Rec. Office.  A materials fee is required.

Exercise Class- 8 am.  Classes held in Rec. Building.  No fee.
Fire Truck Ride- 3 pm  All ages welcome!  Meet in front of Rec. Building.  No fee.  We reserve the right to cancel.

Fishing Derby-  10:30 am.  Bring your pole and we supply the bait. Meet at fishing dock behind the Rec. Building.  No Fee.

Horseshoe Tournament-  9 am.  Our weekly tournament is a ringer.  An Ocean Lakes’ teammate will explain the rules.  Participants expected to play by our rules.  Meet at horseshoe pits.  No fee.

Kamp Starfish- June 4th - August 17th. Open to guests & residents of Ocean Lakes.  Daily session: 9:00 am - 12 Noon. Registration daily: 8:30 am - 9:00 am.  Fees: 5 days - $40 or $10 per day.  Our activities include music, crafts, group games, snack and nature activities. Each child will receive a Kamp Starfish T-shirt.  Brochures available in the Rec. Office.
 
Kids Night Out-  6 pm - 10 pm.  Open to ages 5-11. Join us for pizza, games, and a movie. Space is limited to 30 children so sign up today in the Rec. Office. Cost is $15 per child.
 
Nerf Baseball-  10:30 am.  Meet in the Rec. Building to play baseball Ocean Lakes Style.  No fee.

Ping-Pong Tournament- 10:30 am  In the Rec. Building.  No Fee.

Prestwick Country Club- Jr. Golf Clinic- dates 6/11-8/9.  5:30 pm-6:15 pm,  ages 4-16.  Learn the basic fundamentals of the golf swing. Sign up at Rec. Office.  Cost is $15 per person payable at Prestwick.  Meet at Prestwick Country Club. Minimum of 4 participants required.  Transportation not provided.

Prestwick Shoot Out - 5:30 pm.  9 hole-shoot out! $35 per player.  Fee includes; golf, food and prizes.  Call 843-293-4100 to sign up a foursome.

Scavenger Hunt-  10:30 am.  Meet in the Rec. Building, then take a trip around the Sandy Harbor area to find the answers to our questions.  No fee.

SDU & Skateboarding  
Check with Recreation Office for times!
Free Skating-  Half pipe and ramps located under Observation Deck.  Helmets and all pads must be worn while skating. Skating contests and skating clinics throughout summer.  Check with the Recreation Office for dates and times.

Swim Lessons-  9 am - 10 am. Ages 5-8  Meet at the indoor pool.  Classes are limited to 20 students. Registration begins on Saturday of each week. Cost is $10 per child.  Sign up in Rec. Office.

Water Aerobics- 8 am.  Meet in the indoor pool. No fee.

Wet n’ Wild Pool Fun - Monday - Saturday, 1 pm - 2 pm. An hour of great pool side games & bingo Great fun for the entire family.  No fee.

Cardboard Boat Regatta - Monday, 4 pm. Design boats using supplied materials & then we’ll see how well they float!  Meet in the Rec. Building.  No fee.

Price is Right Game Show - Mondays, 7 pm. Do you remember how much you paid for the last item you bought?   Meet in the Recreation Building to test your memory.

Bingo - Monday and Wednesday, 8 pm. 20 games of fun family Bingo in the Rec. Building.  Play as many games as you like.  Limit 1 card per person. No fee.

Amazing Race - Thursday, 4 pm. Meet in the Rec. Bldg to play the Ocean Lakes version.  Golf Cars recommended.  No fee.

Family Luau -Tuesday, 6 pm. Join us for an authentic Hawaiian meal and Chief Kamu’s Hawaiian Fire & Hula Show.  Adults $15, children 10 & under $8. Tickets  available in the Rec. Office.  Reservations must be made by 12 Noon on Tuesday.  Hawaiian attire is encouraged.

Kite Building & Flying - Wednesday, 4 pm. Bring the family to the Observation Deck to build a kite with the materials provided. $3 per kite.

Name That Tune Game Show - Wednesdays, 7 pm. How many notes will it take your family?   Meet at the Rec. Building.  No fee.

Sandsculpting Contest - Tuesday, 4 pm is judging. Be creative. Build in front of Observation Deck. Must be present for judging. No fee.

Country Line Dancing -Thursday, 7 pm -8 pm. Meet in the Rec. Bldg.  Learn line dance steps from our line dance expert.  No fee.

Karaoke - Thursday, 8:30 - 10 pm. Get your vocal pipes ready and meet at Sandy’s Center Stage for some singing fun. In case of rain, event will be moved to Rec. Center at 8 pm.  No fee.

Family Dance - Friday, 8 pm - 10 pm. Enjoy some great tunes and dance the night away in the Rec. Building.  No fee.

Dive-In Movie - Saturday, 8:30 pm in the outdoor pool. Bring a float & enjoy the flick!   Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pool open for movie only, no free swimming.  No fee.

AROUND MYRTLE BEACH...

Dixie Stampede Night-Wednesday, 8 pm Show. Tickets are $36.50 for adults and $21 for children ages (4-11).  This special rate is only available on this night.  Reservations must be made by 3 pm Tuesday in the Rec. Office.  Large groups may not be able to be seated next to each other depending on seat availability.

Family Night at Medieval Times- Friday, 5:30 pm or 6 pm Show (varies monthly). Tickets are $42 adults & $28 for children ages (3-12).  Purchase your tickets by Friday, 12 noon in the Recreation Office.

Family Night at Legends In Concert- Tuesday Night Show. Tickets are $32.95 adults regular seats, 2 children (3-16) are free per paying adult.

Check with the Rec. Office for discount tickets on various Myrtle Beach Attractions.

Beach Pet Rules...Please be advised that pets are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 9 AM - 4 PM, June 1st thru September 1st.  Horry County will fine you.

Discovery Lab Hours of Operation -

Beach Interpretation
Tuesday, 7 pm at the Ocean Lakes Discovery Lab. An educational presentation describing shells, fossils, and animal life that can be found on our beaches. No fee.

Beachfront Nature Trail
Our beachfront Nature Trail begins at the three Crosses and concludes at the south end swash area. Trail markers set up to learn about eco system.

Shuffleboard, basketball, ping pong, volleyball, horseshoes,bocceball, cards and board games are available for your enjoyment. All equipment may be checked out in the Recreation Office.

Three Day Surf Camp - Ocean Lakes Surf Camp partners with Billabong!
Learn the "Sport of the Kings" this summer at Ocean Lakes Surf Camp. Surf Campers will get instruction in safety, surf, etiquette, coastal and marine ecology, surfboard shaving and Billabong loot. The camp includes three days of surfing instruction, all equipment will be supplied and no previous experience required. Must be a strong swimmer. For ages 10-16. Limited to 8 participants. Cost is $75 per person. Sign up in the Recreation Office.

9th Annual Premier Bluegrass Weekend
Friday & Saturday, August 24 & 25th, 2007
Hear some of the top Bluegrass Bands featuring Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Lost & Found, Nothin' Fancy, The Bluegrass Strangers, The Grascals, Carolina Road and The Grass Cats! Golf Car Poker run and other activities also planned. Wristbands are $30 each plus site fee, children 6-12 are $10, under 6- free.

Field of Dreams Camp
Wednesday, July 26th, 2007
Learn baseball tips from the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a minor league baseball team, Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Breakfast will be served and then we’re off to have a full morning of baseball camp, lunch and followed later on by a tailgate party and a baseball game to see the Pelicans live. Adults and children welcome. Cost of camp is $60 per person plus site fee which includes a shirt & hat. Tailgate and game tickets are $20 each.
